To which saint is this church dedicated?
Is it still in existence?
Are the church registers available on web?
Where can I obtain a picture of the church?
The church at South Shoebury is dedicated to St Andrew the Apostle and is
certainly very much still in existence; the parish also includes another church
(St Peter) about ½ mile away . Pictures are available via the church's own
site Essex churches site (_www.southshoebury.org_
(http://www.southshoebury.org) ) or the Essex Churches Info site at
_http://www.essexchurches.info/Oldsite/HTML/R_S/Shoebury/StAndrewSouthShoebury.htm_

Like most churches in the UK, the parish registers are not on the web, but
you can either buy microfiche copies from the Essex Records Office or view them
at your local LDS Family History Centre - or some kind person who is going
near an Essex Records Office or Access Point might be able to find something
for you on the fiche copies held there.
Alternatively, as you have a date and a place, you could find the reference
on FreeBMD (_www.freebmd.org.uk_ (http://www.freebmd.org.uk) ) and then buy a
certificate from the GRO (_www.statistics.gov.uk_
(http://www.statistics.gov.uk) ) for GBP 7.00 which will hold the same info as the parish record.
