Hello listers
My paternal lines are BENSON 1800 onwards and mainly from Rochford and Grays Thurrock.
Benson boys married the Peppers, Savills, Lanes, Days, Richardsons, Ashwells and Feishers amongst others.
Benson girls married the Bannisters, Tylers and Webbs amongst others.
I was born in Plaistow in 1938 and the last time I was in Grays was in 1958 at my Grandfather's ( George Joseph ) funeral.
We are coming over in your spring 2007 when hopefully Ross Bannister will buy me a beer at "The Rising Sun" because one of his blokes ( John ) married one of my girls ( Sophia ) in 1851. My Grandmother Violet Emily was shown on the 1901 census as being a servant wench " Barmaid " there.
Thankyou all for your help, guidance, encouragement and humour.
Kind regards
Bob and Val Benson
