If no one on the Essex list can help with the position of the light vessels
you are asking about then the Mariner mailing list maybe able to advise you.
My Gt. Gt. grandfather was sailing his collier brig fro London back home to
Hartlepool in the 1861 census and the schedule for his vessel gives the
position showing that she was 6 miles of the Dudgeon light. The Mariners
list subscribers were able to tell me whereabouts this paritcular light was,
off the coast of Suffolk round about Lowestoft. I was sent part of a map
showing the positions of light ships around the coas, you may be as lucky if
you ask on Mariners.
