Here are my responses:
1. What made you take up genealogy-cum-family history researches?
The death of both my parents sparked me off when I realised I knew very
little about my roots and there were very few people left to ask.
I am doing it as a legacy for my grand children.
2. Do you only research your surname or maiden-name ancestors, or include
most, if not all of the maternal maiden-names?
I research all the names that are linked to my family and, where possible,
even the more distant links. I think these are the building blocks that
shaped my life in some way or another.
3. Do you feel that you have a strong affinity to one or more of your
>ancestors?
Yes, especially by 3x great grandfather, William Kinhston. I don't know why
this is as I haven't discovered much about him except he was born c1780.
However, I do have a photo of him and looks very similar to my father.
>4. Are you a "Joe Friday" researcher, or an "Imagenealogist" researcher?
Definitely an Imagenealogist - although I am not sure what this means! As I
am not a Joe Friday, I must be this one!
5. Are you an Essex-born researcher?
No, I was born in Amersham in Bucks (my Mum was evacuated due to the war)
but brought up in Deptford, SE London where I lived till I married.
I now live in NE London - very close to Essex.
