Sharon,
1) Your best bet would be a local newspaper report of the accident.
You could try looking for a suitable local newspaper in the British
Library Newspaper catalogue online at
http://www.bl.uk/catalogues/newspapers.html
You can search by date and place. South Mimms and Barnet are in
Hertfordshire.
If you find a newspaper you will have to ask a library in the locality
to look up to see if they have å çopy of the paper on film or fiche,
and then if they can find a report and photocopy it for you.

1,2,3) Wills are public documents, and anyone can get a copy of them.
For 20th century wills you need to ask at the Probate Office in York
see their web page at
http://www.courtservice.gov.uk/cms/3724.htm
You have to pay about 5GBP for a search and copy of the will.
Or you can search the index for yourself when you come to England at

London: The Record Keeper, Principal Registry of the Family Division,
First Avenue House, 42 - 49 High Holborn, London WC1V 6NP
Tel 020 7947 7000

4) Electoral Rolls can usually only be searched at record offices in
the area to which they belong.
