This is my first posting to this list and I hope someone can help me. Up to now all my research has been based in Devon where I live and this is the first time I have left the county so to speak.
I am having problems tracking my Grandmothers family she was Eliza Mary YOUNG born in 1885 in Plumstead. I have found the family on the 1901 although she is not at home, however her father is given on her birth certificate as George YOUNG and on the 1901 census his birth place is given as Rainham.
I have a located a birth certificate for a male I believe is him born in Rainham in 1848. A cousin has looked at the 1871 census and found an entry we believe to be his parents living at The Cottage Rainham Essex, I wonder if anyone with access to the 1851 or 1861 census for Rainham can look for the family for me. His fathers name is Thomas YOUNG born Rainham occupation Labourer and his mother is I believe called Jane.
