until tonight I assumed this was a family name, but now I wonder. is this
anyone of importance? was my relative named for an ancestor or for a person
of note?
I just found a John Wainwright, b. 12 Mar 1625 in St. Nicholas, Colchester.
is he of any note? if so, then I may be on a wild goose chase, trying to
find a non-existant ancestral line.
in my 4x great grandparent's family, Joseph and Elizabeth (Richards) Cross
have named 3 of their children with a last name for a middle name-Mary
Richards Cross, Hezekiah Richards Cross and John Wainwright Cross. they
lived in St. Nicholas, but over 100 years after the John Wainwright I found.
there are no later John's that fit. if they left the Church of England then
that's another thing and a more difficult search.
