Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has any ancestors with the name of HARRITT. I have come to a fullstop with my HARRITT.
This is what I know:

Elizabeth HARRITT m Joseph ANDREWS Nov 15 1833 at Little Sampford
d Sept 22 1844 at Great Bardfield.
Joseph ANDREWS is on the 1841 Census but the rest of the family only have ages and Y for birth place.

There is a Sarah HARRITT as witness for Elizabeth and Joseph's marriage. Taking this as a lead I looked up any references to Sarah HARRITT. From entries on Sarah' marriage certificate and the 1871,1881 census, it says her birth place was Wenden, near Saffron Walden and her father was Joseph HARRITT, labourer. I will be getting the film of the parish records for Wenden but they will not be available until next February at my local Family Centre.

I would appreciate any information about the HARRITT name that anyone has come across.
