One of my relatives lived at The Firs, Woodford Road. I think that it used to come under Wanstead, but now is probably South Woodford. He still lived there when he died in 1920. From memory when I lived in Wanstead, the houses - maybe around Malford Grove (which was already there in 1914 at least) - were known as 'The Firs Estate'. Does anyone know where exactly The Firs was ?
