Missionary Societies and the RSPCA and was a member of the Clapham Sect
a group of Evangelical reformers who met at his house in Clapham.
It may be that your ancestor ( who sounds like a man of substance ) was
also a member of this group.


Wilberforce's house is now a museum in Hull and is well worth a visit if
you're interested.
