Subject: IN NEED OF 1861 CENSUS HELP
Date: Wed, 29 Sep 2004 02:42:32 -0600
I do hope that some SKS on the list can help me out. I can go no further with my family until I have the information from the 1861 census. I do have the other ones and most of the parish records on this family. The first wife died in 1859 and I would like to find where the missing children got to. Besides the three boys on the 1851 census and Sarah and Ann on the 1871 census, there is a HENRY(ab't 1842) - can find nothing on him & a Samuel Charles 1845 ( have a christening record on him but can find no death record). Samuel Charles probably died as my GGrandfather was named Samuel, he is the one on the 1851 census.
This is what I do have -
1851 census:
Essex, Halstead, Dist. of Hedingham, pg 17
HH 65 Swan St
KING, WILLIAM (age 24 or 27),
LYDIA (age 24 or 27), wife
children: CHARLES (age 4), SAMUEL (age 3), George (age 6M)
All born in Sible Hedingham
1871 census:
Essex, Halstead, Parish of Sible Hedingham, pg 27
HH 133 Water Mill Lane
KING, WILLIAM (age 45)
MARY ANN (age 40) wife
children: ELIZA (age 10), SARAH (age 15), ANN (age 13), HENRY (age 5)
BOLDIN,SARAH ANN (age 8) visitor (Her surname should be Baldwin - Mary Ann's maiden name)
All born in Sible Hedingham except the last one, she was born in Castle Hedingham.
Hope you can help me,
Grace
