I agree there is no easy answer. After much deliberation I decided to
approach by letter my father's other families. Terrifying to say the least
however I now have two brothers who refer to me as their "runt of the litter
sister" (being 51 in relation to their 87 and 78 years). I spent most of my
life thinking I was an only child only to discover I am the youngest of 7
and possibly even more! My father caused a lot of heartache which has
effected all of us but through our meeting we are all in the healing
process - well as much as is possible. So in my case it was the right
decision but I am aware of just how different it could have been. I think
each person has to make the call they think is right at the time.
