If you get no specific information from other Essex listers, may I suggest
an approach I would take ......
Before leaving home list all the occupants of those streets ~ in the order
you find them on your 1881 Census software. You can find this by using your
'Neighbourhood' button. This should help you to get some insight into
which part of those streets your ancestors may have lived. Even if names of
cottages or house numbers are not used, sometimes you find a reference to a
school or a church/manse or a pub etc.
It would also help if you can get access to the original images of the 1881
Census, to see if there is any information at the beginning of the
Prittlewell and Colchester sections about the exact route taken by the
I hope this may help

----- Original Message From: "Carole Willing" ~ I will be visiting Essex
next month . . . . . On the 1881 Census I have the address of Lasletts
Cottages in East Street, Prittlewell and No. 23 Trinity Street, Colchester.
Could SKS be able to let me know if these places still exist or where I
would be able to access this information.
