Hello,
From the 1881 Census (which is available free online at www.familysearch.org
or for purchase on CD-ROM) I found William Arthur STUCK living at Black Boy
Hill, Wivenhoe, Essex, age 2, born Wivenhoe. Other members of the household
were: Emily STUCK (his mother), age 42, born Frating, Essex, tailoress; and
William's brothers: George STUCK, age 11, born Alresford, Essex; Alfred
Gales STUCK, age 5, born Wivenhoe. The mother, Emily, was listed as
married, not widowed, so I did a search for her husband. I think I found
him as a lodger in the household of John SEWELL, at East End Road, Roydon,
Essex. He (George STUCK) is listed as a brickmaker, age 36, born Halstead,
Essex.
To get the exact dates of birth, you will need to see a copy of the birth
certificate. To do this, you could make use of the search and courier
service operated by the Essex Society for Family History (but it covers
births, marriages and deaths for the whole UK). The "Search" part of the
service refers to searching the indexes of the General Register Office
(useful if the particular entry you want hasn't yet been transcribed by the
FreeBMD project). The "Courier" part refers to the obtaining of the
certificate on your behalf and posting it on to you. You can use each part
of the service independently of the other - that is, if you already have the
necessary references, for example from FreeBMD, you can use the Courier
service to order the certificate, and if you use the search service, only to
discover that some detail doesn't match your information so you do not wish
to go on and order that particular certificate, that's fine. For details of
the service, go to the society's website: www.esfh.org.uk and click on the
link to the left of your screen which says Courier and Search Services.
I hope this is helpful.
