Dear Elmo,

As you know I wrote to you, and a lister, for advice after our Executive
asked me to investigate some complaints. As a result of a list message,
with which I profoundly differ, our Society has been judged by your list
as being spiteful, annoyed, not pro-active etc. I think you know the
truth of the matter and I have replied to some of the complainants. I
think the person who posted it will have realised what he has started.

Is the supposition that my members, many who pay £10 a year subscription
to spend all their time producing material for the benefit of others,
are rich people who should be privileged to work for the poor? A lot of
users of expensive computers may have little money left for charities.
Helping others is not the prerogative of a few listers, our thousands of
members help others on a daily basis.

Fred,
Chairman,

Trying to help listers for years.
