Hello,
Thomasin's Lane sounds like the name of a street, so there should be a town
or village name in the address as well. I've just looked at the 1881
Census, and found an Emma OTWAY at Thomasins Yard (not Lane), Witham, Essex.
Looking at the National Index disc for the CD ROM version of the 1881
Census, I discovered that there was only one person in the whole country
called Emily OTWAY, age 40, married to William, and living in St Pancras,
London. There was also an Emily OTTWAY (two Ts), age 26, married to Alf. S.
OTTWAY, living at 25 Alexander Street, West Ham (which at that time was in
Essex - it's now part of the London Borough of Newham).
Regards,
David Lamb (Paignton, Devon, UK)
