Hi again everyone!
I have just received the 'fruit' of my 'harvesting' at the FRC last week - 3
marriage and 1 birth certificate and I am now wondering what some of the
names and occupations are. I would be really grateful if someone on the list
could explain:
One ggggrandfather is described as a 'gunshots keeper' - would this be some
sort of gamekeeper?
Another ggggrandfather is described as a 'bird fancier'. I presume this
means the feathered sort, but what does it actually mean?
The same ggggrandfather's Christian name appears to be 'Sargewin' or
'Sargersim' (surname is Hammond) - has anyone any idea what this name would
be?
Thank you all for 'listening'!
Regards, Gwyn.
