Hi there, in Harold Wood it was 'knock down Ginger' for knocking on front
doors and running away.
'tin can walley?' if I remember correctly someone threw a tin can at the
same time calling out a name. Everyone else had to hide. That person then
had to stand over the tin can looking out for the others hidden away. If
guessed correctly that person was out. But if anyone managed to sneak up
and capture the tin they were in charge of tin can next time round.
Oh what fun we had in those days. Roaming everywhere without a thought in
our heads. Hard to believe that it is now inside the M25 and full of
houses. Also Harold Hill once a vast playground also.
Cheers Heather
