I have a James Barton born about 1817 in Wivenhoe, Essex married to an
Elizabeth unknown surname. At some point he moved to Lancashire where at
least two children were born. I do not know if he moved to Lancashire
before or after marriage. The two children that I have are John born about
1861 and Sarah born about 1863.

The info in the 1881 census is as follows:

James BARTON Head W Male 64 Wivenhoe, Essex, England Mariner
John BARTON Son U Male 20 Liverpool, Lancashire, England Joiner Sarah
A. BARTON Daur U Female 18 Liverpool, Lancashire, Eng Housekeeper

Dwelling 31 Brisbane St
Census Place Kirkdale, Lancashire, England

Does anyone have information on this family? Or know how I can go about
finding out Elizabeth's maiden name and where they were married? I have
checked FreeBMD but really can't tell if I am looking at the correct
marriage info.

John and Sarah were both christened at St. Peter's Church Liverpool
according to the LDS search site, we think possibly Church of England but
not sure.

Is there anyone with access to the 1871 census that can check to see if the
Barton's were living on Brisbane St. in that one?
