Christine, the obvious place to search is the GRO birth registration
index.

Subject: David John Deeks

The Essex list was very helpful last month with my enquiry
re David John Deeks as to whether he was a "step-son or
son-inlaw". The 1881 census showed him as "son-in-law".
living with a John Dorrington age 32 and Eleanor Dorrington
age 42.

I received the Marriage Certificate to-day for David John
Deeks married in Romford at the age of 21 on 27th
December 1885. His father is shown as Samuel Deeks,
deceased.

I am trying to find David John Deeks mother's name.
I cannot find a birth for him on Free BDM or the LDS.
Eleanor Dorrington might be his mother and she re-
married.

What would your suggestions be as to where I should
look next? Thanking you for all your help.

Christine
