I am comforted that I am not mad by reading your email and your thoughts on
I was brought up in Morecambe Lancs, but now live in Essex. I have ALWAYS
had a strong love of London and feel 'at home there' I now know that the
East End is where many of my ancestors lived in the 20th century.

same village/town/city for more than a century or two, possibly longer; yet
we never lived there.

born in, raised in, and lived "down the hill", in North Middlesex/London.

never left the Cavills; including me.
