It was called the War of 1812. Yes, it was 1814, but you know how
our ancestors were about dates. The Americans had invaded
Canada and burned Toronto (then called York) and other places.
After we chucked the Americans out, the Brits took their fleet to
Washington and returned the compliment. The Americans got an
anthem out of the incident, The Canadians got a rebuilt Toronto--a
mixed blessing in the eyes of many of us.

We won't kill you this time, Colleen, but don't press your luck. :-)
