Hello Naida - someone in Australia kindly transcribed all the Clavering
emigrants in the 1850s, from the NSW shipping records, and so I know that
the family you mention definitely came from Clavering where I live. This is
the info he sent me, probably the same as yours:

I don't know any more about the family here, but you may get some help from
our local historian, Eileen Ludgate (no email) address: 'Shovellers',
Stickling Green, Clavering, Saffron Walden, Essex, England. She has written
2 books which tell you a lot about the area. Until recently there was still
someone called Lily Piggott living on Stickling Green, and Eileen knows
about the family from talking to her, though I am not sure if she was
directly linked to your Piggotts.

You can look at the Clavering censuses now that you know where to look -
also Langley which is a smaller, neighbouring village closely linked to
Clavering. Clavering, if you want to look at map, is in the north-west of
Essex six miles from Saffron Walden.

you may get some further help if your enquires are specific to name and
date, from the ERO archive office in Saffron Walden and which covers
Clavering and Langley:
