I am trying to find out about Richard FINCH, born 1739/40, who was related
to the well-to-do Finch family of Headington, Oxford. He married Laetitia
White and inherited the Rookery, a fine Headington house which had belonged
to members of the Finch family since the 1660s.

Richard Finch was not, however, baptised in Headington (although his
children were). The only baptism I can find in England for a Richard FINCH
at the right time was at West Hanningfield in Essex on 4 February 1740.
Does anyone have any further information on his family, please - even if it
only means I have to eliminated this Richard Finch as a possibility?
