Go onto the Police rootsweb and your enquiry will be picked up by Paul
Rason of the Friends of the Metropolitan Police Museum. He has a pro-
forma on that site that helps you to get Metropolitan information. For
instance if your man was pensioned there will be a record of service in
the Public Record Office at Kew. Or the lovely Maggie Bird the archivist
