Subject: An Index to the graves of St Marys, Chadwell St Mary?
Date: Sat, 7 Jul 2001 11:35:18 +0100

It took 3 years to find my mother's first cousin Joan, and then living
a few hundred metres from my children's school. We have spent an
afternoon talking this week, and lovely it was too.

Of all the things I expected to be able to ask, I have an additional
pearl.

She remembers my Mum's older brother being born, and as we all knew he
was still born. This was prior to 1937, and although my grandparents
are now deceased, I am informed by the authorities that I still can't
obtain any details or cert although he would have been registered.

I had also searched the council cemetary records in Chadwell-St Mary,
and found nothing, knowing this was a slim hope.

SO, she told me that when he was born, my Nan was so hysterical and
inconsolable that despite the church's policy on the unbaptised in
those days, the vicar agreed to a proper burial in the grounds of St
Mary's Church.

Does anyone have access to any index to this graveyard? If so, I am
keen to find the grave of baby Derek HANSON, obviously aged 0, so of
Herbert and Maud HANSON.

Against medical advice, she went on to have Mum, named Joy because she
was their little bundle of Joy, although Nan was very ill after.

Whilst I live very close to the graveyard myself, I am moving to
Suffolk in 14 days time, and just can't create the time to hunt for
hours there!
