Hi there,

I know nothing of the firm but they would have been one of a number of
contractors who were hired by farmers during the winter months to thresh the
corn harvested and stacked in July/August.

Their equipment comprised a steam engine which drove the thresher, a bailer
or an elevator to either bail the straw or lift it onto a stack. Initially
the engine was horse-drawn but later became self-powered, drawing all the
implements plus a caravan for the crew if they were far from home and had to
sleep over.

All can be regularly seen working here at steam rallies and agricultural
shows as part of Essex agricultural tradition.
