It's very common in Felsted in Essex. I am working my way
through the Bishop's Transcripts at
present (at the LDS Family History Centre in Huddersfield).
For interest the film is no. 1702314, Felsted C of E
Bishop's Transcripts, 1801 - 1869 (with some gaps).
Jiggins occurs a lot, though I don't have any details -
none connect to me!
A thought - it would be very interesting to know about "Main Names"
in areas / villages. For instance, KELLOCK and derivatives hail
from Bradwell Juxta Coggeshall. In Felsted, names like LIVERMORE,
FULLER,
BENTALL, LAUDRUM, CHILDS, YOUNG, WADE are common.
Anyone know of clumps (new technical term for groups of family names!)
of
WADE, CHILDS, WALLIS names?
Regards,
Mike.
