Sorry,I realise that this isn't Essex Genealogy, but wondered if anyone
one the list happens to have any 1851 census Indexes for Middlesex?
Katy Shillinglaw has very kindly checked the 1851 census indexes for
me,for both Poplar and Whitechapel, for Joseph HOLDGATE(HOLGATE). He was
not on either of those, and since he was alive (as far as I know) at the
time of the 1855 marriage in Hull Yorkshire of his son William Thomas
HOLDGATE, I was hoping to find Joseph in London.
(son William was stated to have been born ca 1826 in Middlesex Ldn on
all Hull censuses after 1855).
