Hello List
While on the subject of Woodham Ferrers I thought I would add a Descendant
Chart showing my Hedgeley and Lewis family, who were from the area. John
Hedgeley Senior was a Harness Maker, Saddler and Shopkeeper. His wife
Charlotte has been listed as a Grocer and Draper. In 1848 John Hedgeley jun
was listed in White's Directory as Victualler of the Bell Inn, Woodham
Ferrers. The Lewis family were farmers. If anyone has any connections to
these families or ideas for further research, I'd love to hear from you.
Perhaps Ferrers is derived from the early family de Ferrers from Norman
times?
