I'm an ex-Lincolnshire girl who emigrated to Canada 1957 (OK, not girl
perhaps).

In researching my tree, I find my gggrandfather, John Lee RILEY was born
in Springfield, Essex around 1835. I always understood he came from
Ireland, so perhaps his parents did. John Lee married Elizabeth Ann
PENNELL probably around 1862. Their first child, Lucy PENNELL was born
in Rochford in 1863, but the next, Clara Mary Ann was born in Northfleet
Kent in 1865.

Does the Essex FHS have volunteers who have access to various records
and will do look-ups? Does anyone have access to the 1851 census for
Springfield?

Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated. I can't seem to make any
progress with this branch of the family.
