Subject: Re: 'All Saints Church' in LAMBOURNE, address please!

My cousin was recently married in the church at Lambourne - altho' I can't
remember the dedication, I assume it was All Saints. Like Lambourne Hall
it's at the very end of - wait for it - Church Lane! On the OS map the
post-code is RM4 .... , but the remainder is presumably different from the
Hall's post code, to judge from Elmo's note (or perhaps churches don't have
postcodes or postal addresses). The grouping of Hall and church at some
distance from modern settlement preserves the ancient (prob. Saxon) centre of
the parish, as it does for so many Essex churches. But I digress.

I presume Lambourne is now part of a joint parish, so the vicarage could be
anywhere. I suggest you approach the Diocesan Office in Chelmsford (which
should be enough for any postman!) - tel. +44 (0) 1245 266731.

Regards

Philip Heath
