Hello Everyone,
This is My first time in the Mailing List, I am Geoffrey WHAM of Queensland , Australia. I have been trying to Research My Family tree for 4-5 Years and I have only got as far as 1824. I have been stuck in that Year for about a Year now, until a Friend mention to Me about the Mailing List.
My 3x Great Grandfather WILLIAM WHAM and his Wife CAROLINE WHAM ( nee ALLINGTON ) also born around 1824 ( I got this approx. Year via the 1881 Census ) had 3 Sons William jnr (b.1845). , Walter ( My 2x Great Grandfather (b.1847)) and George(b.1849).
My question to start off with is , I am Trying to find the Year of Death for My 3x Grt Grandfather WILLIAM. I know it was before the 1881 Census and also CAROLINE ( if possible) Year of death Please.
Also WALTER WHAM got Married in the ELD LANE CHAPEL in Colchester, is it still there ?
I hope some Kind Person or Persons will be able to answer My Questions. Just a added footnote , the Surname WHAM is not Pronounce as it looks , like in some Batman Cartoon .Originally it was Pronounced as " WOM ". The H and the A sort of became a hidden O.
