My first thought was - what an unusual surname. Then I went on a bit of a
hunt around and found that there are literally hundreds, if not more,
GUTIERREZs in the country! So, if you've already had a good scout around
yourself I don't think I can help you. However, if you haven't, the IGI is
worth checking out although I believe its a bit like looking for a needle in
a haystack because there are hundreds (again) of the same name in Spain,
South and North America. The only ones in England are:
1. Adolphe Joseph GUTIERREZ - International Genealogical Index
Gender: M Marriage: 3 Dec 1825 Allhallows London Wall, London, London,
2. Henry Lumley James GUTIERREZ - International Genealogical Index
Gender: M Marriage: 6 Nov 1866 Holy Trinity, Clapham, Surrey, England
3. Wynanda Henrietta GUTIERREZ - International Genealogical Index
Gender: F Christening: 1 Aug 1827 Allhallows London Wall, London, London,
4. Wynanda GUTIERREZ - International Genealogical Index
Gender: F Marriage: 18 May 1835 Saint Dunstan, Stepney, London, England
I looked in every country for your Vincente Conrad, but I'm afraid to no
The very best of luck to you,

Hello Listers one and all,
This is my first posting.
My name is Mike Gutierrez and I live near Peterborough. Born at R.A.F.
Cosford Shropshire and I'm English!
So where did I get a name like GUTIERREZ. The task of finding out is at the
moment, a very interesting one.
The name is of Spanish origin, but it seems more commonly found in North and
South America. How, when and where my ancestors arrived, landed, swam or
stowed away to get into England is yet to be unravelled.
The facts so far:-
My Grandfather, Vicente Charles GUTIERREZ, b.1884 in Hammersmith Middlesex.
All I know about my G.Grandfather is that his name was Vicente Conrad
GUTIERREZ, he was a civil servant in Hammersmith Middlesex.
Does anyone recognise the name? If you do you'll be a hero of mine.
