Hello all

On the 1851 census it shows my Gx4 Gran as widow, 81/Almshouse, wid,carptr /Essex/Rivenhall
also my.....................................Gx4 Aunt s/46/almshouse,wid,carpt/Essex
The almshouse was 110 Bridge Street, Chipping Hill? Witham?.
Could someone tell me what wid, carpt is. I am I correct in thinking widow, carpenter.
