This bring to mind my mother (born and bred in Suffolk), who called pigs
"Joofers". The whole family joked with her about this for years, since they
had never heard anyone else use the word. About 20 years later, we were
stopped in a country lane near "Gun Hill" on the Essex/Suffolk border by a
"flock" of pigs in the road, and the gentleman in the road was calling "Get
alon' there ya ' Joofers". You should have seen the smile on my mothers
face!
