The only information that I have about my family member, which I would like to
know more about:
Joseph Cressey ( like I said, the spelling was changed later sometime)
Born in England in 1836 ( I do not know where in England but, I would like to
know)
Died at Bay City, Michigan in 1876

he was in the Civil War.
Charles Augustus Cressey was born at Hillman Mi. at 7-10-1867
Died at Sault Saint Marie at 4/2/1934
Then, my great grandfather: Frank Hamilton Cressy (or Cressey) born in
Grayling, Mi in 4/18/1897
Died in Detroit in 1/4/1959
and my grandfather whom I never met: Frank Edward Cressy:
B. 2/19/1923
died in Traverse City in 8/6/86
For Joseph Cressey:
Is interned at the Oak Ridge cemetery in Bay City, his records show that he
was mustered into service (Civil War) on 12/27/1862 and was Honorably
discharged on 5/9/1865. He was a Private in Company A, Provos Gaurd Michigan
Volunteers (infantry). It is on the papers that I have , discharge, Pension
and deed that the last names become all bent out of shape. meaning: Cressey
becomes Cressy. That is all I know. I do know that Joseph Cressey married to
Mary Cressey I do not know her madin name. Thanks so much, all the help is
great. oh, and if you could find what the nationally is and the orgin of the
name, that would be great also!
