Dear Jean,

Yes, I managed to get through to it from Hong Kong, probably because it
was an inconvenient time for other interested countries to be on the
Internet. I did a blanket search for all BULTITUDEs, SWINNWERTONs and
ARMITSTEADs and was delighted with the results. There is individual
information, such as rank, number, place of grave or memorial with
reference numbers and details of how to get there, sometimes next of kin
and address. Also historical information on the battles/action in the
area of burial, which could include such details as the fact that the
cemetery concerned was the burial ground next to a big dressing station
away from the front line (conjuring up terrible images of young soldiers
dying slowly of their wounds). Civilians killed by bombs in the blitz
are also included on the database. Altogether a very useful site which I
would recommend to anyone with a bit of perseverance. I found it easy to
use and each record took only a few seconds to load.
