Hello to everyone on the list,
I'm brand new to this list but am also on the IOW and LONDON lists. Am
seeking help researching my Grandfather's family. I have documentation
that my Grandfather, WILLLIAM ALFRED BURGESS, was born in London, 20 August
1875 but family legend has placed the origin of the family in Essex. One
never knows about the accuracy of legends and this makes it interesting. I
have just received information from someone saying that there is a history
of a BURGESS family in Clavering back to the 17th century. I am wondering
if anyone has information about this family. My Grandfather's parents were
CHARLES BURGESS and HANNAH CUNLIFFE. Unfortunately, at this point that is
all the information I have regarding them. If anyone has any information
regarding the family in Clavering, I would love to hear from them. Any
