Not my line, but satumbled across this info on him.
William Woollward /Wollard/etc.
Court Document Isle of Wight, Virginia, 1660s describes him as sea
captain and merchant of Harwich, Essex. He moved to what is now North
Carolina about 20 years later. His family is rather sketchy, but there
appears to have been issue. None of the Woollwards I have been in
contact with have a complete family. One fellow, Mr. Janes Woolward of
Califonia appears to have most worked out, but have not received info
