Subject: HELP! Burial records, 7-9 June 1810
Date: Sun, 23 Aug 1998 10:51:56 +1000
My Australian cousin will have two days in London in a few weeks time &
we are hoping he will be able to find the headstone/M.I. of our
4G-grandfather, **Robert INGRAM**, a merchant who died near modern-day
Barkingside, London, on **June 7, 1810**.
Of the possible parishes, Barking, Little Ilford, East Ham and Gt.
Ilford, only the records of Barking (without Little Ilford) and East Ham
have been found on LDS microfilm. The years 1804-1812 are missing from
the LDS film, and he was not buried in Barking which was the parish his
home fell within, but evidently not the church he used. The search for
Robert INGRAMs parents has involved 3 generations of his decendents in
Australia over the past ten years and two professional researchers (who
followed another Robert INGRAM, merchant), and no clue has been found to
date.
PLEASE! if some kind person has access to complete registers for East
Ham, Little Ilford and/or Gt. Ilford could they check the burials for
June 1810 for us?
I have heard that there is currently a team recording the Monumental
Inscriptions of St.Mary Magdalene at East Ham. We have other family
buried there, but I have been unable to confirm either that the work is
in progress or to find a contact person for the project. Can anyone help
with this?
My eternal gratitude to anyone who can provide me with some assistance
in the next couple of weeks!
Cheers,
