We are trying to trace my grandfather and his family in England prior
to his emigration to Canada. He was orphaned at age 5 or 6, sent to
a place called "Poplar Training School", which we believe was in
Brentwood Essex - can anyone tell me anything about this place?
Also - is there anything online for looking up surnames in the UK?
