Hello Folks from a glorious morning in Calgary Alberta.
I have an Alfred Henry Britnell born 16 Sep 1893 Westcliffe, Essex.
His parent were Frederick BRITNELL and Sarah Marie YOUNG.
If this is the right Alfred Henry then he is my half cousin who immigrated to Canada
in 1925 with wife and first born son.
Like I said if this is the right family then Sarah died soon after Alfred's sister Elizabeth (Lil)
was born and Frederick went onto marry Sarah BRABEN born 1869 St John's Horsely Downs, Burmondsey, Surrey.
I have never found a marriage cert for Frederick and Sarah or for that matter Alice BRABEN and Frederick.
MY Frederick was not registerd with St Cath's nor could I find him on the 1881 census.
It could be that the family had a batch christining for Frederick and his siblings but I would not know where to start.
Frederick according to my father's birth cert was a Horse Keeper in Lambeth where my father was born in 1907.
Is anyone researching either BRITNELL or the YOUNG name on the list.
Perhaps someone can help or make suggestions where I might find something to tell me
that my grandfather did in fact get born.
I know that Frederick had at least one sister as she married a Mr. Chandler. They gave my parents a wedding gift of silver and ivory butter knives which I now have.
Any suggetions would be most welcome.
