Hi, I am Kathy Jones from Vancouver Island, B.C. Canada. My
great-grandfather was Thomas Montague Priske. I have been able to
trace him back to a marriage certificate dated 1884. His address at
that time was Victoria Docks, and he was 31 years old, so that would
put his birth year at approximately 1851.

I can find no record of a birth or death but his father's name was
William (no middle name). His father is listed as a Mariner on the
birth certificate and Thomas Montague Priske is listed as chief mate
on a trading vessel. He is not listed in any of the available
census reports.

According one of the researchers with the Guildhall London, they told
me that his birthplace was Truro, Cornwall. But again I cannot find
any information with that clue.

If there is anyone that can give me some ideas on how I can do
further research in the Victoria Docks/Forest Gate area, perhaps
cemetaries or something, so I can find more information on Thomas, I
would appreciate it.
