Maureen mentioned Prisoms Island - I had maternal ancestors living
in Prusom (note sp.) Prusom street, Shadwell which is still there in
part and may be found on today's London A-Z. In Victorian times it
was just off Wapping High Street and Wapping Wall. Prusom's Island
was adjacent. My 1854 gazetteer mentions the Island but only shows
the street on the map!
