Hi

I have traces my grandmothers Kershaw family name back to a Joseph KERSHAW
who marries a Hannah BREEDING in East Markham, Notts in 1820. I have
managed to trace a birth for Hannah, but nothing in the Notts area for
Joseph.

A search on the IGI shows that there are several Joseph Kershaw's listed,
they seem to come from Rochdale, Lancs - Leeds, Yorks or Wakefield, Yorks.

Has anyone lost a Joseph Kershaw from their tree who might have come south
to Notts. I have found his death in Mansfield in 1849, aged 50, shame he
didn't make it to the 1851 Census as that might have given a clue where he
was from. 1841 Census says he was born Notts but I really can't find him
anywhere.
