Subject: [Harrogate] Where are BARNARD'S CASTLE AND ASKRIGG LOCATED PLEASE
Date: Wed, 03 Sep 2003 00:01:18 +0000
I received in the mail today a copy of my great grandmother's birth
certificate. I now know that her parents are: CHRISTOPHER DUFFIELD (Inn
keeper) and SIBYL METCALFE. I love the fact that I started with just her
name and birthday and now have both parents and four siblings.
May I trouble you and ask where two towns are located? Sibyl Metcalfe was
born in BARNARD CASTLE, YORKSHIRE, ENGLAND. Now not really sure if its a
"castle" per say or a town. I have found a Sybilla Metcalfe born in
ASKRIGG, YORKSHIRE, ENGLAND. I was assuming that SIBYL METCALFE DUFFIELD
was born in or about 1839 and this SYBILLA METCALFE was born 3 June 1839.
Basically trying to establish how close are these two towns are to each
other. An how far would they be from Brearton/Knaresborough? And to see if
these two ladies are actually one. I believe I can prove it when I get the
marriage record of CHRISTOPHER DUFFIELD AND SIBYL METCALFE. Not sure how
deeply I want to go with this line. Seems like know one else is so I should
do it.
Thank you in advance.
