Subject: FW: Long lost DUTTON cousins found - now seeking MILLER/SCROBY connection

Sending to this list as well as the Suffolk list as there is a Wetherden
connection which I hope is not TOO far from Stowmarket; apologies to those
who see it twice.
Best wishes
Caro

Subject: Long lost DUTTON cousins found - now seeking MILLER/SCROBY
connection

Dear List
Thanks to the wonderful Suffolk Surnames Website, I've recently been
contacted by two long-lost cousins of my DUTTON grandmother. We've swapped
notes and now that they have found my "lost branch" of the family, there is
one more that we know nothing about.

Hannah (or Anna) DUTTON b 1873, married Robert Frederick MILLER b 1883, in
the parish church at Wetherden, 2nd Dec 1903. They had a daughter Vera
Kathleen in 1904, then 3 further children Sonny, Ron and Zena (I don't know
whether these are given names or nicknames). Vera's birth was registered in
Stow District so I suspect that the family may have stayed in the Wetherden
area, especially as Hannah's older sister Priscilla MOTHERSOLE also lived
there.

Robert MILLER was living in Wetherden in the 1891 census with his parents
Jonathan MILLER and Fanny. Jonathan in both 1871 and 1881 was living in
Wetherden with his grandparents Jonathan SCROBY and Mary Ann (description in
1871 was "Wife's Grandson").

If any of these names ring a bell with anyone I would love to hear from you.
Incidentally the DUTTON family here are the lot in Bury St Eds, as opposed
to Lawshall, Cockfield or Wickhambrook, although I live in hope of being
able to prove a connection one day.

Finally, a HUGE THANK YOU!! To Pat and Ray for the great Suffolk Surnames
Website resource.

Best wishes
Caro Holden, High Wycombe
