The JACOB families of East Anglia
My Grandmother was Jemima JACOB, born in Mt Gambier in South Australia.
Her father, Henry (Harry) JACOB was born in Pakenham in 1848 and migrated to
Adelaide, South Australia
with his parents as a very young child.
His father was Joseph JACOB, born in Pakenham in 1809 and died .1879 at Mt
Gambier. He married Susannah SAVAGE at either Lowestoft or Stowlangtoft, in
1834.
I have part of a compilation of the JACOB family, which includes Mary JACOB,
b 23 Nov 1773 at Onehouse. and married Robert BUCKLE on 16 Feb 1802 at
Rougham. She had 2 Baseborn children Luke JACOB born 1788, died 19 May 1793
(?) at Chattesham, ands Robert JACOB born 5 March 1801 at Rougham. I am at
this stage not aware whether Robert Buckle was the father. There is no
mention in my records of any other children, although it does seem that
Robert JACOB married a Mary ??.
The records prior to this are quite extensive, going back many generations.
As the enquirer, Kerrie Jolly, is from Australia, she may like to contact
me. I live in Melbourne, Victoria.
