I would like to take this opportunity to inform those that use our site that this weekend marks our fifth anniversary online.

We started with some trepidation, being uncertain exactly what path we would take, what support we would receive and whether we could ever become a credible entity. Now five years down the road I have been surprised by the numbers who have volunteered to help and by the volume of records we have been able to make available, being now just short of two million. At our current rate of extraction, I would not be surprised to see another million records go online in the next twelve months.

I hope that with the efforts of all our volunteers we can make Lancashire the county with the best online coverage of records.
